Summary: "About perfect"
This dvd is great for giving a taste of what Bonnaroo is. A taste is all a movie of the festival can hope to offer, because actually being there is such a soul-stirring experience.
The photography and editing during the performances are impressive and very fun to watch. No annoying cut-aways or effects. Many of the songs chosen for the DVD are great choices. Steve Winwood's "Dear Mr. Fantasy" is breathtaking. Trey Anastasio, Ween, Primus, Taj Mahal, Galactic, and Gillian Welch are awesome too. I was surprised by Los Lonely Boys, who deliver some heavy, rockin' blues.
Definitely worth the money. Putting it on always satiates my appetite for the next festival. Now all we need is for Danny Clinch to put together some 05 and 06 DVDs!!!!!!!!

Best live concert footage on a DVD since the "Last Waltz".
One highlight after another. I'm not a Dave Mathews fan but,
his version of "Trouble" w/ all the help he gets is worth the cost
of the DVD alone. And the rest is consistently excellent.

Summary: "THE BEST OF THE BONNAROO DVD'S THUS FAR"
Why? The lineup of artists is excellent, with the entire spectrum of groove found here. The performances are excellent bar none, not just on a musical perspective, but how the DVD has captured the artist and audience. I don't need to list the performers-you can read it yourself. But I can tell you that the quality of film and sound is perfect, especially if you play it through a PA or good sound system and TV (I know you'll have one in this day and age). The artitsts are especially on focus here, and the jams are in their entirety, so you can see and learn from their masterful work on their respective instrument or vocal. The DVD also interlaces shots of the crowd members and their sometimes estatic outbursts (and lots of shots of babes, too!) This is a HIGHSIERRABASSPLAYER MUST BUY!

Summary: "Incredible DVD!!!!"
Although this DVD does not take on a documentary style form as does the 2002 dvd, the performances are as incredible if not better than the 2002 dvd. my favs include doc watson, north mississippi, ween, moe., primus, burning spear, femi kuti. and to top it all of robert randolph and the family band with eric krasno is the most incredible guitar work ive ever seen. even though you dont get to see daniel play slap bass like in the 02 dvd, it still rocks! This dvd has little commentary abt side amusements at the festival and hardly any interviews. but the special features on it are magnificent. A great interview with Yonder Mountain String Band, however too bad they got snubbed on the dvd. Also, watch the Dead's interview. Phil Lesh's acerbic comments will give you a good laugh. The sound is magnificent too. No drawbacks to getting this one but the 02 dvd does have more of a narrative and informative take on the festival.

Summary: "Don't believe all you read"
Many will discount this DVD, explaining to you how more popular bands or well known songs should be on this compilation. While this may be true, I would urge you and those giving such reviews, to remeber what Bonnaroo is really about - Music. As a festival Bonnaroo has tried to bring a mixture of genres and artists, new and old. The only guiding principle deciding which artists, is one question: "Do they play great live music?." I think you'll find that this DVD is jam packed with great footage, sure to keep you jammin all night, even if you don't know whose singing your new favorite song. Don't be scared like some reviewers, thats not what Bonnaroo is about, buy the DVD, you'll love it!
